Before Zoom, Google Meets, Webex, and Skype, Join.me was the pioneer of online meetings. In the early days of online meetings, Join.me was the leading solution. The application has now grown over the years, adding other features such as whiteboarding, presentations, and hand-raising. It was a great tool and a cost-saving one for me and my colleagues when I could do a Join.me meeting for free. Now, for subscribers to receive better features, they must pay a low-cost plan.
  • Screen sharing
  • Internet calling
  • Unlimited audio with international conference lines.
  • Easy interface
  • I would like them to bring back hosting free. Some clients of mine would love this.
I and my colleagues saved money when I started doing Join.me meetings for free. My colleagues and I were surprised by how useful Join.me was when we could host a meeting for free. Those days are gone now, and, as a result, subscribers are required to pay a small fee to obtain better features.

Every now and then my team gets into situations where it would benefit us in our new remote work status scenarios that we have the ability to screen share and control other users computers. Join.me solves for both those scenarios in one easy to use software package. With my IT background it's often easier and quicker for me to solve a lot of my teams PCs issues instead of waiting for IT to address. With it's remote control abilities I can do just that.
  • Screen sharing
  • Remote computer control from anywhere
  • Easy to install and get up and running
  • Certain features can be a little hard to find
  • Not the best user interface compared to some of the more expansive competitors
If you're on a bit of a budget the pricing for Join.me definitely makes it an easy choice. We were able to download it and get it up and running for free on a few of my teammates PCs that needed assistance with some computer setup. It can be a little confusing to access some of the features at first but once you get the hang of it it's pretty easy to use. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it for extremely large meetings, but it's excellent for smaller groups.

When I worked in corporate, [Join.me] was the go to product for hosting web virtual meetings. Used join.me as join a virtual meeting. When working remote this was the best method to communicate with team members.
  • Easy access to the product
  • Very user friendly, intuitive product
  • Great for virtual meetings
  • Easy connection to utilize product
  • I remember times when using the link that someone sent didn't work
  • It wasn't always consistent
[Join.me is] well suited when you have a need for a quick meeting. Just send out the link and person can jump on quickly.

Doesn't work as well when there is a large number of meeting participants. Found that the links didn't always work.

Some of our users are using the free version and it is serviceable. It works but has limitations. I think it is in the second tier of options within the video conferencing realm. Zoom, Webex, and GoToMeeting have a deeper feature set. It works but not anyone's favorite here.
  • Free.
  • Easy to use.
  • Limited features.
  • Slow at times.
If you need something periodically this could be the answer but I do not consider this an enterprise system. It has several shortcomings and it is not a great setup. I do not anticipate using it again in a professional manner or workplace environment. Zoom, Webex, etc. cost what they do for a reason.

A client recommended Join.me to us at a time when we were looking for a lightweight video conferencing solution for sales presentations and team meetings. Now we use Join.me as a pitching/presentation tool and quick team meetings as an alternative to Skype and Zoom. Our primary use cases are sales presentations and team project update meetings. We see it as an easy to set up tool and there is no need to download anything so you can send out a link and start a meeting almost immediately (as long as you have participants!)
  • No need to download anything to get started. Once you sign up you can get started from within your browser. This is probably the single best feature, its a get up and go solution for video conferencing and you do not need any software for it to work.
  • The one click join a meeting URL is genius. Users who struggle with remembering passwords or invites can just click a link and immediately participate in a meeting which means one email and a couple of clicks and a meeting can start.
  • Good control features - As the main user, you have many control features including deciding who can speak, annotations, screen sharing easily.
  • Screen Recordings to the Cloud - This can save on time when you have had a long conference, you can save a recording to the cloud and download it later.
  • There is no free tier version beyond a free trial. It would be good if there was a free version of some sort.
  • If you have a large meeting, it can be a bit unstable, whether this is connectivity or the platform itself is hard to say.
  • Mobile Apps do not offer the same experience as the web experience, you can find yourself kicked out of a meeting while other participants may still be in the same meeting. Some synergy between the web and mobile apps would be great.
I think Join.me would be ideal for smaller meetings of say under 50 people. Team meetings, client pitches, collaborations are just a few scenarios where Join.me may be useful. If you have a bigger meeting with more than 50 participants, you may need to look for another solution.

Join.me is the tool we use on a day to day basis to show our software to potential clients. We use it to screen share our software and take clients through our demonstration. It also has the capability of being the platform we use to speak to clients if it's not done via phone calls separately. It is used by our implementation teach to train current users of our software or our Sales team with the goal of selling the software. We do not travel to the properties to do these so the screen share helps us in the simple fact we don't have to leave the office.
  • Easy to get potential clients on the demonstration from their site.
  • User-friendly platform.
  • Customized emails to send over to people with calendar invites attached as well.
  • Lag time - I understand it depends on the internet access by both parties but either way can be extremely frustrating.
  • Recording a demonstration could be easier.
It is definitely well suited for a company that does not plan on traveling to show their product. It is easy to do screen sharing as well as meetings on the go internally with the team. It's not well suited I believe with higher up clientele just because the lag could show or present a poor representation of the product you're trying to sell.

Join.Me is used when Skype and other communication tools are not available for use with the client. It allows for clear voice and video chat between myself and clients.
  • Simple to use.
  • The servers seem more robust than Skype's.
  • VPN support.
  • It doesn't have the integration with Outlook that Skype has.
  • It's not as wildly used, despite being easy, therefore familiarity is hard to come by.
  • It can be difficult for newcomers to use.
It's suited for when other tools are not available. However, with Skype having so many connection issues, we often go straight to Join.Me for smaller conference calls that require better connections.

The use of Join.me was initially an ad hoc decision because of numerous going issues with the company's existing online meeting, classroom and desktop sharing platform. As a global online and on-site instructor, the show must go on for our paying customers, so I set up a 'classroom', in my personal Join.me space for the day. Using the integration with Office 365 Outlook, I was able to quickly send a new invitation to my globally sprawled students with toll-free numbers for all of them. The class one flawlessly that day including multiple brakes, online labs in which I monitored other people's desktops, and screen recording. That was the last time I ever used our corporate solution and stuck with join.me. The bulk of our instructors last I checked, we're all using the corporate Join.me service without any issues.
  • Screen sharing.
  • Global toll-free telephony.
  • Product integration.
  • There are no shortcomings in this product, at least for our team. It's a perfect fit. I don't have to think about it. It's a perfect fit. I don't have to think about it.
If you're sitting in a hot, distant from anything technological beyond a fax machine, crappy hotel, whilst tethered to some janky ISP/scooter repair shop's WiFi, and your only mobile phone has a questionably sourced SIM card. It also happens you're about to teach 15 technologist adept professionals for the next 8 hours online, then you're in great shape with Join.me.

We mostly use it to do screen shares with clients. Since we are a marketing service provider, we're working with many different clients and Join.me allows us to teach them things that would be hard to explain without the visual aids. Often we'll have to have them do something on their end of the Amazon account so Join.me allows them to easily connect our computers so we can walk them through the process. It's also very useful when we are training clients as we can have them do things themselves which helps solidify the information much better than us just showing them.
  • Most importantly, it's very quick and easy for companies to join. You have a custom URL and you just tell them to go there and follow the directions.
  • They do NOT have to download a plugin to see your screen, which makes things a LOT easier. They only have to download the plugin if you want to have them share their screen or give them mouse control.
  • It loads pretty quickly and has a lot of local numbers, typically the directions are clear and clients don't have trouble joining.
  • Occasionally I have clients who have difficulty joining, I think it may be due to a technical glitch so I'm looking into that.
  • As with any screen sharing, sometimes the image lags a lot if either party has a slow internet connection.
Its free plan is great and it's just easier to use for clients than other tools since they don't have to download a plugin in order to join the meeting.

At AV Magazine, we are a small team that collaborates all across the United States. We have employees from Miami, Kansas City, and Santa Monica. Sometimes we share ideas from stories that we are working on, and this program makes it easier to do. All we have to do is share a link and everyone is connected.
  • They offer a free trial version for you to try before you even decide if it's right for you. But they also have 3 great packages to believe in. We are using the Pro Version, which is right in the middle.
  • You can host video conferences and record them for team members that couldn't make the meeting.
  • We can instantly have reports converted to Excel.
  • Honestly, There is nothing I can say negative at the moment. I actually forgot to mention they also have an option for Toll-free calling. You would have to have the OpenVoice before you use it to connect, but it is available if needed.
Join.me makes it easier for our team to stay connected even when we are miles apart. Linking up was as simple as sending a link and joining a quick meeting to collaborate on Magazine layouts for the quarter.
Since using Join.me, we even have convenient, in-app reminders of scheduled upcoming meetings. I would recommend this to small businesses, which is what we are, but it is also perfect for larger groups.

Join.me has been used for conference calls as well as screen sharing. It solves the problem of sharing content, or viewing/troubleshooting an issue a client has with their website. Join.me is great for screen sharing. If you need to view someone else's desktop to walk them through something, it's a great tool. It's also really helpful to sharing your own screen to walk through a proposal, or show someone what you've been working on. It's really easy to switch between whose screen you see too.

Join.me is used by various departments throughout my organization for video and web conferencing for meetings. We often need to have meetings to share information across company departments, functions, and geographic areas. Join.me allows those who need to host a meeting to share critical information with others virtually to do so quickly and easily, plus share presentation elements including documents/information and videos.
  • Ease of use - the Join.me product and platform are very easy to use, even if it is someone's first time.
  • Trial option - the company offers a free trial option, which is great if a company isn't sure how it would work for them - they can test it out without making an investment.
  • Help section - the company's help section is really useful and it's fairly easy to search if you need help figuring something out.
  • No password protection - you can't protect a meeting with a password that you only share with intended participants. Instead, participants have to "knock" to be let in - but that means someone has to be on the lookout for those requests.
  • Limits to the whiteboard - the whiteboard functionality is limited to tablets, which is a bummer if you have many participants on their work desktop computers or laptops.
  • Screen sharing - sometimes it won't work on particular browsers.
Join.me is a great video conferencing service for small to medium companies who need to host video and/or web meetings frequently but not with a ton of "bells and whistles" like tons of high-resolution video and graphics. On the other hand, if a company needs to do a lot of virtual meetings and communicating with a client or potential clients and wants to ensure they look as sharp and professional as possible, this might not fit the bill.

I use it for live online professional development sessions with staff. Currently, I am the only one using the paid version. A few teachers use the free version to share screens with students.
  • Simple to join the session.
  • Custom URL and call in number.
  • People attending require no software just a web browser.
  • Software for the presenter is easy to install and use.
  • Settings for the presenter are a little clunky.
  • Attendees screens delayed anywhere 2-20 seconds.
  • It is simple but quite extensive for its price point.
Great for professional development but not for collaborative work.

Join.me is used across our entire organization and benefits many departments. Since we have employees in other countries that often need to collaborate with those in the states, Join.me provides an easy way to work with team members. Additionally, we often have to connect with our clients and Join.me provides an easy and simple solution.
  • Join.me provides easy and simple to use screen sharing.
  • Join.me provides multiple audio options.
  • Join.me makes it easy to invite participants.
  • Join.me's video conferencing is a bit choppy, this could be better.
  • I wish there was an easier way to convert recorded sessions.
  • I wish it offered toll-free conferencing.
Join.me is perfect for small meetings and sessions where one screen will be shared throughout the session. Collaborating with team members is the perfect use of Join.me. Larger meetings with more participants may run into issues with Join.me. I definitely recommend using Join.me in smaller sessions with only one or two participants.

Our organization was using Join.me for our conference calls with clients and within the organization between employees. It was being used to address the business problems of communications and developing client intimacy. Unfortunately, due to our frustrations with the product and finding a better product, we cancelled our subscription with Join.me.
  • Easily recognizable by clients
  • Easy to share meeting code
  • Can create a free account to demo
  • Audio quality
  • Video quality
  • Being able to record and edit audio and video easily
Join.me works fine, and works well for your average small group conference calls. It is very nice that it has a free feature and is user-friendly for clients. However, I think it is less appropriate if you're looking to get more advanced with your features, such as hosting major webinars with dozens of clients. In addition, our major frustration was that we liked to record our webinars and then edit them to share, which was not easy, nor was it a feature that Join.me enabled.

Join.me is used to obtain remote access to a computer or server for the first time. Typically, I will install a permanent, unattended, remote solution once gaining access. Join.me does a great job of providing an easy to use website that users can browse and initiate the remote connection.
  • Easy of use for the end user, well-designed webpage.
  • Simple, quick download for quick remote connections to workstations.
  • Several nice features after obtaining control and overall an efficient tool.
  • Technically deficient users sometimes have trouble with the website domain name.
  • The connection can be slow at times when trying to obtain mouse and keyboard control.
  • Latency when clicking or typing as well as bugs when focusing on specific windows on the remote computer.
Join.me is a great tool for the immediate, initial remote connection. Most all end users can quickly navigate the site and provide access. This tool has a short URL name for typing and walkthrough. It is not the best remote access tool out there, so it's the best for the initial connection only.

A big part of our company consists of building websites. After our client's website goes live, we teach them how to use it. Many of our clients aren't local, so we use Join.me to teach them to edit and update text, add images, change phone numbers, etc on the website. We trained everyone from the owner of the company, to their team members and all seem to be able to use Join.me without issue.
  • One of the things I like about Join.me is my branded url that I can send people when I need them to join. It was very easy to make links for them right to my specific meeting.
  • Join.me has very good video quality. The person on the other end doesn't seem to have much of a lag, if any at all.
  • Easy enough to change presenters, which you need the pro version for.
  • I usually use Join.me when on the actual phone with a person. I've tried a couple of times using the call-in phone number and had issues hearing the other person, but that could be due to the other person's computer setup.
  • Join.me has a Chrome browser extension, but they don't have a Chromebook specific app for my Chromebook. My laptop is a Chromebook and I use it enough where I would have liked to get on a conference with a client to no avail. This is very frustrating as there are a lot of Chromebooks being sold.
  • The pricing shows how much per month, but the * says: "*Amount shown is price per month and billed on an annual per user basis."
  • Now sure why software does that. Just give me a yearly price.
I've recommended Join.me to people who don't use a lot of screen sharing as they have a free version which would suit them just fine.

Join.me is not suited for people who have Chromebooks. I'm a tech guy and a lot of people come to me to ask about what hardware/software they should buy. I've been telling them how great Chromebooks are, and they love them. Kind of tough to recommend Join.me to them... as they'd be wasting their money since the Join.me download won't work.

It is being used by the entire organization to do remote meetings with our customers. We use the screen sharing, conference call and chat features to be able to effectively hold remote meetings.
  • The screen sharing as well as the ability to control another users mouse is an excellent feature!
  • Persistent Link for Meetings which is easy for everyone to remember.
  • Multiple conference call numbers which cover most geographies.
  • Additional Conference Call Numbers or perhaps a toll free number. There are times where there are no dial-in numbers for specific cities where are customers are located.
It is well suited to remote meetings where you need to either show a presentation, a browser or document on your computer. It works great since everyone is "singing from the same hymn sheet."

We use Join.me to conduct demos for clients. We use the system 'Zoom' internally for remote employees to join meetings, etc., but specifically when we are dealing with clients and making a sale, we prefer to use 'Join.me'. Our sales department mainly uses Join.me. It's great for getting clients to see something on our screen as quickly and easily as they can, with little technology difficulty.
  • Very easy to join a join.me - simple instructions
  • Free to use (at least on the most basic level)
  • Easy to teach other employees how to use
  • Bit of a lag with when my screen moves to when the other screen moves
  • Some clients still have difficulty using this
  • Great for 2 people to be on, but not the best medium for 3 or more
If you are on the phone with a client, and want to quickly show them something that is on your computer (a presentation, graphic, software, etc.) this is absolutely the best service to use for that. It's very easy to give your client instructions and have them start viewing your shared screen.

Join.me is used by departments as needed. Most of our employees are on site, but a few travel and fewer work from home in other states. Join.me provides an easy, quick, and free way to connect and get things done without obstacles (buying, downloading, etc.). I don't have to schedule it in advance, I can set up a meeting on the spot.
  • Free to use the bare minimum features like having a few people join the call, with the option of video conferencing, and ability to share screen (all participants)
  • Intuitive. I don't have to spend time learning how to use it it is easy to figure out.
  • Sign up is very quick, they don't ask you for a lot of information.
  • Paid options are very reasonably priced.
  • The things I can think of are very minimal. The Features page lists a lot of additional things we can get, but I can't tell if I can get with the free version I currently have or if I have to pay to access them. I've only used the free options, those extra options are things I didn't even know I could do/had access to.
If you are going to do a very large webinar (over 250 participants) this is not the system for you. The "Business" edition is the highest level and that is the max it supports. But you could do some fun and creative things with it, that include video conferencing and whiteboarding, for a very reasonable price. I don't know if it records meetings or if you can schedule in advance and it integrates the meeting to your calendar, I've always used it on the spot, but it is still solid and I love it.

We use Join.me for conference calls. Our clients follow our presentation while on the phone with us. Being able to follow along with us and see our custom solutions (without letting them log into our tools) is a great selling feature.
  • Screen sharing with ease. Simple install and run.
  • More professional than using Skype. Skype seems to be more so for video conferencing. We don't want that - we want customers to see our screen. That's it.
  • Seems to disconnect randomly. (No, this is not an Internet issue).
  • Small lag occasionally between what's on our screen and what's on the customer's screen.
It's free. There's nothing better than that. It works perfectly for our screen sharing needs. We can deal with the occasional problems. It usually just requires a restart of the program.

We sometimes use Join.me as a fallback if one of our other methods of screen sharing do not work. There are times when other products are not allowed through firewalls, or their services are down, and we still need to support our customers. Sometimes, Join.me will work when others don't.
  • Getting connected to customers is easy.
  • Fairly fast loading of initial web site.
  • File transfers could be easier. Users have to accept the transfer, no drag and drop, etc.
  • The screen refresh/redraw is quite slow. Mouse movement can be slow/choppy.
If you need a quick connection to someone to do something quick and simple, join.me is probably your best bet. It's free and it works. If you need to do something a little more intensive and time consuming often, there are a few paid for competing products that are more suitable.

JoinMe is a tool that is used by our IT dept to do various interactions as needed.
  • Reliable. Never had a time that it failed to work.
  • Easy for users on both side. Both the initiator and end user.
  • Easy set up and install.
  • Has some issues with Chrome browser.
  • Can take a fair amount of computing power for some parts of it on an older PC.
It is a good tool to use for online conferencing and screen sharing. Not a high learning curve for end user. Very reliable.

Generally we will use Join.me for ad-hoc screen sharing sessions with customers. My department uses it. It allows us to quickly establish a session with our customers to troubleshoot problems that they may be having with other applications.
  • It is easy to access and use with just a couple of clicks.
  • No large plugin installation needed like some other utilities (such as GoToMeeting). Quick download and launch.
  • Typically, the UI is very responsive with screen sharing.
  • It's random sometimes when it will require you to login. This is troublesome for our remote customers as it's another step they may have to take.
  • CPU utilization can get quite high. This happens both on my MacBook Pro and also on Windows VMs.
  • Recently the application has either hung or not installed/launched properly in Windows.
  • Depending on the technical savvy of the remote user, they sometimes want to go to join.me.com or are simply confused when directed to "Go to join dot me in your web browser."
As previously mentioned, whenever you need to do an ad-hoc screen sharing meeting with someone, join.me serves that purpose quite well. If you are presenting often, you can also just have your own join.me address for others to join. For larger sessions with multiple people, I would think that something like GoToMeeting would be more appropriate.
